One graduated single strand pearl necklace 17.5" princess length, knotted with a tongue clasp containing 39 south sea cultured pearls, 9.2mm in size to 11.9mm in size. The pearls are light cream in color with a good luster, near round, and moderately blemished with very good matching. Graded on the strand. South Sea cultured pearls are farmed in the oceans surrounding Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines and the southern coast of China. The main source of Australian South Sea pearls lies in the northwest on the Kimberly coast. South Sea cultured pearls are formed in the Pinctada Maxima oyster. These pearls take between two to three years to grow and have a unique nacre due to the fast moving and clean waters of the South Seas.
