One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast tanzanite and diamond ring with a bright polish finish. The featured tanzanite is set within a diamond bezel supported by diamond set split shoulders, completed by a two millimeter wide band. Condition is new, good workmanship. Containing: One prong set pear mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 11.00 x 7.80 x 3.75mm, 5%. bulge factor, approximate weight of 2.24ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, dark, very slightly grayish, blue color, (GIA B 7/3), cut is good. Natural Tanzanite, color enhanced due to cobalt coating. The presence of the coating prevents determining the stone's actual depth of color. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Grading in the setting. The cobalt coated Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color.
